From the JMBzine vault – Oct 2, 2001

This post is from the JMBzine Blog Vault, which means it is a very old blog post that I wrote at a very different time of my life. My views on religion, politics, and many other subjects have drastically changed over the years, so please bear this in mind when reading this post. – I generally do not edit my past writings, except to fix obvious spelling issues, or to fix broken links (most often replacing with with links to I do add some more recent editorial updates, which are shown in blue italicized dates.

Just read the funniest thing on Atomic Village
Ronald McDonaldOkay, here we have a national icon. Yet in reality, perhaps he should be locked up. We don’t know his name, he is always in disguise, he is always following little children around offering them something to eat. Despite all this, he is free to wander the streets tempting young children with his wares. This was fine in the fifites, but it’s the zeros now, Folks. He can’t be trusted. If anybody sees him – alone – with small children, please, notify the authorities immediately. We don’t know what he’s concealing in those baggy clown clothes of his. Approach with caution. He may be carrying semi-cooked french fries, or raw hamburgers. He can be recognized by the smile on his face. Do not approach him unless armed with an antacid tablet. If he’s carrying a so-called “Happy-Meal,” be advised there maybe sex toys included. Do not alert suspicion, don’t be a hero, just advise your local law enforcement agency.

One of my favorite bands, Madison Greene is doing a tour of this part of the country. I’m looking forward to seeing that at one or more of their shows.

(2023): I was a huge fan of this band and am sad that their music isn’t readily available somewhere online these days. They were an interesting group, a sorta world music/aggressive acoustic Christian band.

(2023): This was a piece of software that encoded audio into MP3, which was caught up in patent C&D letters and litigation. Here’s a little more about the backstory.
