This recent article was one of several Jewishly informed articles in the March 2026 issue of Anabaptist World magazine.
I most appreciated this article for allowing lay readers to know about the tradition of Jewish midrash (both ancient an modern), and how the use of midrash might help readers to engage with texts in more meaningful ways. Obviously, Jewish readers may understandably say, “this is old news for us,” but for most Christian readers, the idea of midrash is not well known outside of academic circles.
